FORT WORTH, Texas – The suspect who used "affluenza" as a defense in the drunken-driving crash that killed four people, is no longer behind bars.

Ethan Couch, 20, was released on Monday after serving two years in prison for violating his probation.

In 2013, Couch, who was 16 at the time, killed four people while drunken driving. His attorney convinced a judge that his wealthy upbringing caused him not to know right from wrong; therefore giving him the name “affluenza teen.”

Couch then only received 10 years of probation, but he ended up back in jail after video of him playing a drinking game surfaced online, which violated his probation.

Along with his mother, Tonya Couch, the two fled to Mexico in 2015, but were both extradited back to Texas.

Many believe the justice system has been too lenient with Couch.

Authorities said if Couch does anything wrong again, he is not expected to get any sympathy.
