Wednesday was the warmest day so far this month in Wilmington. The high hit 79. Thursday afternoon should be a couple degrees warmer!

With partly cloudy conditions, highs will soar to around 80 and the low 80s across most of inland eastern North Carolina. Along the immediate coast, the relatively cooler ocean water will keep highs at the beaches in the 70s. The Outer Banks should see highs just at 70.  Low temperatures will only drop to around 60 and the low 60s late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Friday will bring our next chance for rain ahead of a front passing through the Carolinas. Look for showers and a few thunderstorms around midday and afternoon. The chance for strong storms appears low at this time.

Plenty of sunshine will return for the Easter weekend.  Morning lows will drop to the upper 40s. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s.
