AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Marathon and High Five Events presented Camp Kesem with a $3,195 check on Tuesday, March 27.
Spectrum News Sports Director Ricky Doyle was named "charity chaser," meaning for every person passed, he'd earn a dollar for the charity.
Doyle began the race dead last and managed to pass 3,195 people total. An avid runner, he placed 331 in the race. Not too shabby!
The 2018 Austin Marathon brought out runners from all 50 states and more than 30 countries on Sunday, Feb. 18.
Camp Kesem operates free summer camps for children who have been impacted by a parent's cancer.
