SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff said a missing teen is safe, but her parents are facing charges of abuse.

The 16-year-old disappeared after leaving Taft High School January 30th.

Authorities said her parents planned to make $20,000 from forcing her to marry an older man and punished their daughter for not going along with the plan.

"I believe it was the female suspect, the mother that at one point actually threw hot cooking oil on her because she was refusing to take part in this marriage," Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said.

Both parents face charges of continuous family violence, additional charges could be filed against them and another suspect.  The teen and five other siblings are in CPS custody.
