SAN ANTONIO – A man has been arrested, accused of sexually assaulting his girlfriend’s children - ages 8 and 11 years old -according to an arrest affidavit.

The older sister of the victims called police on March 17 to report that her mother’s boyfriend had sexually assaulted her younger siblings.

The mother’s boyfriend, 45-year-old Humberto Gonzales, is accused of the aggravated sexual assault of a child. The affidavit states that he is a registered sex offender for a previous criminal conviction of indecency with a child.

The victims told police they visited their mother on the weekend but did want to return to the home while Gonzales was living there. During their weekend visit, police said both of the victims were sexually assaulted.

The 11-year-old said in the affidavit that she was first assaulted by Gonzales in 2016 and then again in February 2018. Each time the victim said Gonzales was drunk.

The 8-year-old victim told police she had been assaulted in 2017 but was uncomfortable providing specific details.

On March 18, the mother called police and told them to remove Gonzales from her house. He was brought into police questioning where he denied the allegations.

The children are now with Child Protective Services.

Gonzales was arrested on March 21 and faces a first-degree felony for the aggravated sexual assault of a child.
