AUSTIN, Texas -- At an Austin City Council Work Session Tuesday morning, Mayor Steve Adler spoke about the current efforts of law enforcement members and what the community can do in light of the recent package explosions.

Adler said that City Council members are encouraging members of their districts to disseminate any information that they receive from officials on their own social media platforms.

The mayor continued to say it is important to recognize that "The fear and anxiety in the community is real, and it's natural and a part of this." Adler said it is important for people to keep their eyes open and look out for each other by being vigilant and noticing anything that may be out of place.

He tweeted that if any member of the community sees anything suspicious, he or she should call 911. Any tips should be reported to 512-472-8477.
