TEXAS – A Monday forecast is calling for high to extreme wildfire danger statewide.

Current conditions would mean that an ignited wildfire could spread rapidly. When fire danger is this high is poses a containment issue for firefighters, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

“Very high” fire dangers are being reported in Austin and San Antonio with a fire weather watch warning.

The warning escalates to “extreme” for San Angelo and as far west as El Paso.

The Bastrop Fire Department tweeted that when the fire danger is this high, Texans should avoid outdoor burnings of any kind, including lighting up that BBQ.
