AUSTIN, Texas -- An Austin staple that has helped keep the city lit since the 1980s will soon be turning off its lights.

The Light Bulb Shop will close its doors on April 15.

For nearly four decades, people in Austin have flocked to the North Austin shop for everything from Christmas lights to LED and fluorescent lighting. It was passed down a generation, and the current owner said they're sad to see their parents' business close.

But, they say they are many reasons to shut down the shop and they wanted to go out with their heads held high. Anyone that would like to place a final order has up until March 27 to do so.
