AUSTIN, Texas - According to a Reddit post and subsequent chain of comments on Friday, an outgoing employee threatened staff at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

The post claimed the man told staff that on his last day of work that if he didn’t land the job he sought at Fort Hood, a military base in located in Killeen, Texas, he would bring a shotgun to the hospital and that he had a list of people ready.

Spectrum News reached out to the hospital and received the following statement from Tom Jackson, chief executive officer of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center:

“On his last day of employment, a former employee made threatening comments upon his departure from the hospital. We take matters like this very seriously, and we immediately notified local law enforcement. Working with law enforcement, we have taken the appropriate steps to ensure the safety and security of our employees, patients and visitors.”

The former employee’s last day at the hospital wasn’t specified. Spectrum News reached out to the Austin Police Department for statement but had not heard back at the time of publication of this report.
