PFLUGERVILLE, Texas - The Austin Fire Department on Thursday night reported an 18-wheeler fire in Pflugerville has prompted a hazamat situation.

The fire occurred on Highway 130 near Parmer Lane. All lanes on State Highway 130 have now reopened. 

The truck was hauling a nitrogen trailer, firefighters said. Pflugerville and Austin authorities were in the process of evacuating the immediate area. The risk of explosion prompted the evacuation of a half-mile area. 

Just after 8:30 p.m., the department reported the truck's cab had burned down enough that it was safe for crews to move in for final extinguishment. A small resultant grass fire was also under control.
