TEXAS - FEMA officials are working to help Hurricane Harvey victims who still haven't moved back into a permanent home.

The agency's Transitional Sheltering Assistance Program ends Feb. 20, and those who aren't eligible for extensions will have to find different housing.

Nearly, 54,000households were given temporary shelter after the hurricane devastated the Houston area, and more than 8,000 remain in the program.

Officials will identify those who don't qualify for temporary housing within the next few days. They will have to check out of their hotels Feb. 21.

People living in hotels can verify their eligibility by calling the FEMA hotline at 800-621-3362 or checking online at DisasterAssistance.gov
