AUSTIN, Texas – A fire that started in the attic of a Northeast Austin home caused an estimated $25,000 in damage early Wednesday morning.

Around 3 a.m. fire crews were called to the 8200 block of Shenandoah Drive.

It took firefighters less than one hour to extinguish the flames.

Investigators determined the cause of the fire was accidental due to an electrical short in the attic.

No one was injured in the fire as the family was not home at the time.

The fire caused $20,000 in structural damage and $5,000 in contents lost.
