AUSTIN, Texas – The Austin Police Department is asking for help from the community in a failure to stop and render aid case that occurred last Friday, Feb. 9 at approximately 3:30 p.m. 

A student from Forest North Elementary School was walking home from school on the east side of the 13000 block of Hymeadow Drive when a vehicle ran off of the road and struck the child.

The driver did not stop to help the child and left the scene. The vehicle is possibly a red Chevrolet SUV with dark tinted windows, but the victim was not certain. The child received non-life threatening injuries from the crash.
