SAN ANTONIO- The family of a missing San Antonio man is asking the community to help find their father.

Pete Paez Carreon was last seen a week ago at his home in south Bexar County. His family said the 81-year-old veteran was wearing a green plaid jacket and black pants when he wandered out the door.

"I woke up at 4 a.m. and he was gone. We started looking in the whole neighborhood and we didn't see him," said Nancy Santa Cruz, Carreon's daughter.

Carreon suffers from dementia and other health problems. Santa Cruz and her siblings fear if he's not found soon, he could die.

"He takes medication. He has a pacemaker and we are just very, very concerned," said Rose Melendez, Carreon's daughter.

Carreon's children along with an army of volunteers spent Sunday searching for him. At least 10 search teams were sent to areas where witnesses say Pete might have gone in the last week.

"They had told us that they had seen him in this area so we are concentrating in this area and we have a lot of groups walking the street and passing out flyers and talking to the public," Melendez said.

Carreon is 5 feet and 8 inches tall. He weighs under 170 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000.
