SAN ANTONIO – The Alamo City is gearing up for the NCAA Men's Final Four this spring.

The city announced on Wednesday several events for locals and tourists alike. All eyes will be on San Antonio as it hosts the championship for the fourth time in 20 years.

“In just 68 days we will be crowning the 2018 men’s basketball tournament champion at the Alamodome,” said Bruce Rasmussen, NCAA Men’s Basketball Committee chairperson.

But it won’t just be about the teams playing hoops at the Alamodome. A "Fan Fest," free music festival and block parties are all planned for the big weekend.

“This is not just a single game or set of games, but this is an entire community effort that will showcase San Antonio and all the fun that people locally can have and also visitors to our city,” said San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg.

The Alamodome is undergoing improvements ahead of the Final Four designed to elevate the "in-venue experience."

“And you all know that have been here for a while, we’re kind of accustomed to taking center stage when it comes to the basketball world,” said Sean Elliot, 2018 Final Four ambassador.

The 2018 Final Four runs March 31 through April 2.
