AUSTIN, Texas – One woman didn’t fear the reaper after eating nine of the hottest peppers in the world to benefit a profession associated with a lot of heat.

Lt. Aimee Beasley-Spadoni won $5,000 for the Austin Fire Foundation. Among the Chilies for Charity event was the Carolina Reaper, which is the world-record holder for hottest pepper.

After her win Aimee said “I feel good; I even ate hot sauce this morning.”

The Austin Fire Foundation supports local fire departments with outreach and public education.
