SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man has been arrested and charged with compelling a child to prostitution.

Silverio Ruiz Jr., 25, is charged with a first-degree felony for forcing a minor into prostitution with multiple men in April and May of 2016.

Ruiz and his girlfriend took provocative photos of the victim who lived with them and posted them the social media website Mocospace.com, according to the affidavit. The victim told police the pictures were used to set up dates for paid sex.

Investigators discovered Ruiz would take the money from the interactions and only give the victim $40 out of every $800 made. The affidavit states that Ruiz would drive the victim throughout Bexar County to meet with different men.

Two of the men the victim engaged in commercial sex with have been identified by police. One of the men admitted to paying $60 for intercourse. The suspect also told police he had the victim enter his apartment through the window.

According to the affidavit, Ruiz knew the victim was under age and sexually assaulted her at his apartment.

Ruiz is in custody at the Bexar County Jail.
