SAN MARCOS – Another lawsuit has been filed after the 2016 death of a Texas State freshman.

The body of 20-year-old Jordin Taylor was found under a bus on Oct. 29, 2016. Sheriffs believe she was dragged for more than 500 feet by the shuttle bus.

The company that insured the buses claims it was misled about the business. The insurance company is suing the bus company, B and B Transportation.

According to court documents, Manufacturers Alliance Insurance Company alleges B and B lied when applying for insurance. The lawsuit claims B and B denied operating party buses, denied owning other transportation companies, and denied owning and leasing its vehicles.

The night before Taylor’s body was found, she and more than a dozen sorority sisters were being shuttled to a party nearby. A mechanical issue forced the party-goers to switch busses before they headed home.

The next day, Taylor’s body was discovered beneath the broken down bus.

Taylor’s father, Joey Tayor, also filed 14 lawsuits over his daughter’s death, including one against the bus company.

“When we send our kids off to school and we understand that they’re participating in these type of activities, we would hope and pray that the people putting on these activities and are involved with them, they’re operating with significant caution to ensure the safety of people,” said the family’s attorney Jim Ross.

In the lawsuit, the insurance company claims if they were aware of the risks, they would not have issued an auto policy.

The attorney for B-and-B did not answer Spectrum News’ calls or emails for comment.

“I don’t know how one could get justice for losing their child. I don’t know if there’s ever going to be justice. I think what we want to have is some type of accountability,” said Ross.
