AUSTIN, Texas — Austin police are investigating a bank robbery in Northwest Austin.
The robbery happened Friday afternoon at the 10400 block of FM 2222 at an IBC Bank branch, police said.
Police say a white male, between 40- and 50-years-old, 6 feet tall, unshaved, was wearing dark clothing when he entered the bank with handgun and demanded money. He fled on foot.
This same location was robbed on Dec. 22, 2017. Based on information gathered from victims who were on scene, police believe this is the same suspect who committed this robbery in December.
The first bank robbery of the year happened at around 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at the Comerica Bank in the 1700 block of W. 35th St.
Police are asking for the public's help indentifying the suspect.
The suspect, whose description and photo are included below, displayed a weapon and demanded money before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. He is described at 5 feet 8 inches, white and with a white beard.
