TEXAS – Financial data from people who ate at various Jason's Delis is appearing on the dark web, according to the Beaumont, Texas-based restaurant chain.

The breach was discovered on Dec. 22 after "a large quantity of payment card information had appeared for sale" online. Restaurant management is investigating how the data breach happened and is cooperating with law enforcement.

The chain has not said how many customers are affected or if it only affects customers who used their credit or debit cards at particular locations. Jason's Deli has 266 restaurants nationwide, including locations in Austin, San Antonio, San Marcos and New Braunfels.
