SAN MARCOS, Texas – A San Marcos man will spend five years in prison after pleading guilty to intentionally setting two cars on fire in 2016.

Paul Lawrence Mussler, 44, was arrested after a Volkswagen and pickup truck were found ablaze on April 20, 2016.

San Marcos firefighters and San Marcos police responded to the fires at the Palazzo apartments in the 1011 block of Wonder World Drive. The two unoccupied vehicles were both damaged in the fires.

The San Marcos fire marshal determined the fire was intentionally set and identified Mussler as the suspect. He was indicted in May 2016 and sentenced on Dec. 11.

Arson is a second-degree felony.
