KINSTON, N.C. -- The SBI is joining Kinston Police on investigating why an officer shot at a man.

Kinston officers were patrolling Towerhill Road around 9:30 Saturday night when they came across 44-year-old Anthony Hicks.

At some point, officers shot at him.

Hicks is at a hospital in Greenville. There's no word on his condition.

No officers were hurt.
