SAN MARCOS, Texas  — A man wanted for sexual assault in San Marcos has been apprehended in Mexico.

According to police, 56-year-old Jesus Delgado is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl on Aug. 14 at a motel in San Marcos. A warrant was issued for his arrest but police couldn't find Delgado.  

When he couldn’t be located, the Hays County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshalls joined the search.

A tip led law enforcement to believe Delgado was in Mexico. With the help of the Mexican government, Delgado was detained in Monterrey.

After Delgado was deported and booked at the Webb County Sheriff’s Office where he’s awaiting transfer to Hays County.
