The City of San Marcos reported the Sights & Sounds of Christmas Festival was canceled Thursday evening due to weather and safety concerns.

The festival had been scheduled to kick off Thursday at 5 p.m. Instead, the festivities will get going Friday, which is Military Appreciation Night.

The festival continues Saturday night as well. The festival includes a carnival, photos with Santa, food vendors, a gift shop and more.

The annual Sights & Sounds of Christmas 5K and Kids Jingle Bell run is scheduled for Saturday morning. For more information, visit www.sights-n-sounds.org.
