RALEIGH -- An investigation is underway after an early morning fatal shooting in a northeast Raleigh neighborhood.  

It happened just before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when police found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound in the 2200 block of Raven Road.

The man was taken to WakeMed hospital but did not survive.

His name has not been released at this time and police have yet to say whether a suspect has been identified in this case.
