AUSTIN, Texas – “Art From the Streets” will celebrate 25 years this weekend, and will continue to connect the homeless community with the positive effects of making art.

This year's art show will be Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Austin Convention Center from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The organizers said the show provides the homeless community with a sense of pride and a way to sell their creations.

Last year artists raised around $85,000. This year, they hope to break $150,000.

Attendees are asked to donate $5 at the door to cover the cost of the program and to ensure that 95 percent of the sales go to the artists.
