AUSTIN, Texas – A portion of southeast Austin will be given a post-apocalyptic makeover for the filming of the TV show "Fear The Walking Dead."

The prequel to "The Walking Dead," the AMC show depicts the catastrophic results of a zombie apocalypse. The show normally films in Los Angeles, but the production is moving to Austin from Nov. 28 through Dec. 1.

The production will set up on Shady Cedar Drive and Onion Creek Drive for filming on Wednesday. The art department, lighting department, and locations department will prepare the area for filming on Tuesday.

Drivers will be asked to avoid South Pleasant Valley Road between Springville Lane and William Cannon Drive sporadically throughout the shoot. Austin police will be at the set to assist with traffic control.

"Fear The Walking Dead" stars Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam Carey, and Frank Dillane. The show follows two families sticking together to stave off the undead.
