SAN MARCOS, Texas - A favorite lunch time spot in San Marcos is closing.

The Hitch Mobile Eatery is calling it quits, which the food trucks that have been parked there have to find a new home.

No more pitas.

No more noodles.

Not even a single taco.

"I'm pretty sad about it. St. Pitas is one of my favorite little eat spots. I like the options because I live on the square, so I just walk down the street and I have like six or seven different options," said San Marcos resident Jason Vivaldi.

While officials didn't return Spectrum News' calls, the city of San Marcos was quick to squash rumors on Facebook that The Hitch Mobile Eatery is closing because of health regulations.

The city insists it worked with vendors to make sure permits to operate were valid, and that they could move from location to location.

However, vendors didn't want to be mobile, according to a statement from The Hitch. But all the red tape had them hitching their trailers and vacating the premises.

Not all vendors have said where they will relocate, but the WANderlust food truck is leaving The Hitch for Zilker Park in Austin on Jan. 1.
