CHARLOTTE – A new list of the “25 most dangerous highways in the United States” shows Interstate 85 as the 15th most dangerous roadway in the country.

In particular, Charlotte is listed as the most dangerous city along I-85, which runs from Petersburg, Virginia, to Montgomery, Alabama.

In all, 378 people died in crashes along I-85 from 2011 to 2015. Twenty-two of them happened in Charlotte.

The list, which was compiled by GPS tracking company Telerac Navman, shows the most dangerous time to drive on I-85 is on Fridays in October between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Other highways that cross North Carolina which made the dangerous list include Interstates 26, 40 and 95 along with U.S. Highway 17.
