San Antonio police say the thief walked in a side door of the downtown restaurant and grabbed the iconic instrument off the wall and walked out.

An employee noticed the guitar nicknamed "Frankenstrat" had gone missing after closing.

Eddie Van Halen is a legendary musician who has had several guitars built for him over the years. He built the Frankenstrat guitar himself from spare parts in the 1970s and used it, to much acclaim, on his band's debut album.
