AUSTIN, Texas – Three men have been arrested in Williamson County for the online solicitation of a minor.

An online operation conducted by the Child Exploitation Unit of the Attorney General’s Office caught the three men. Investigators posed as children online to find the offenders.

Samuel David Kelley, Shane Michael Perry and Joshua Logan Dean each agreed to meet the online users they thought were children expecting to engage in sexual activity, according to the Attorney General’s Office. All of the men were arrested upon arrival at the location they agreed to meet the children.

According to investigators, Kelley, 21, confessed to police that he was speaking in a sexual manner to a girl he thought was 15-years-old. Perry, 27, also told investigators he thought he was going to meet a 15-year-old girl to engage in sexual activities. Dean, 28, confessed to agreeing to meet at 14-year-old girl in Georgetown.

The Child Exploitation Unit uses innovative technology to hunt for online predators. Attorney General Ken Paxton asks that parents learn more about the risks facing their children online.
