AUSTIN, Texas – A $10,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information that can lead to the capture of one of Texas’ Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives.

Carlos Alberto Gonzalez-Barahona, 26, is believed to be a part of the Mara Salvatrucha gang, or MS-13. Gonzalez-Barahona is accused of murder and aggravated kidnapping.

Police say in June 2017, Gonzalez-Barahona reportedly shot his estranged girlfriend to death at the apartment they shared in Houston. He is also believed to have kidnapped a driver at gunpoint in Brazoria County.

Investigators think he may have fled to Mexico. Gonzalez-Barahona is from El Salvador and has been deported numerous times.

The city of Houston is also offering a reward of $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.

Gonzalez-Barahona is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds. He has several identifiable tattoos including a star on his left elbow, the word “HOUSTON” on his back left arm, the word “TEXAS” on his back right arm, “GONZALEZ” on his upper back, the number 281 on his left arm and 713 on his right arm.

The public is warned not to approach Gonzalez-Barahona; he is considered to be armed and dangerous.

Each month one offender is highlighted from the Texas 10 Most Wanted Program as the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division offers a reward for their capture.
