It's all about perspective this week when looking to the heavens.

From the vantage point here on planet Earth, it looks like Jupiter and Venus have been growing closer and closer together over the past few mornings.

It's called conjunction, an alignment of two planets or other celestial objects so that they appear to be in the same, or nearly the same, place in the sky.

At the closest, just before sunrise this morning, the pair was only about one third of a degree apart.

Even though skies have been too cloudy in the Lone Star State to get a good view locally, Burton Fitzsimmons shares some pretty cool shots from elsewhere around the globe in the above video.

The weather is prediceted to clear up a bit, even if only briefly, as the outlook calls for Mars and the moon to join the mix during the next few mornings.
