AUSTIN, Texas -- Hundreds of girls of all ages traveled from across the state to attend this weekend's "We Are Girls" Conference in Austin.

Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, the conference provides girls from third through twelfth grade with a wide range of classes and workshops.

From music and robotics to assertive communications and healthy friendships, the goal is to give attendees the skills to successfully navigate girlhood.

"It's such a great day where girls can come together and celebrate girl power and celebrate the power and strength that they have.  So you do really feel like this safe, supportive and inclusive environment for girls where people are having a genuinely great time.  And they're making connections with other girls and having those really positive relationships formed,” said Brittany Yelverton, of the Girls Empowerment Network.

The next statewide "We Are Girls" Conference will take place in Houston next April.
