AUSTIN, Texas -- Lewis Hamilton again posted the fastest lap in the final practice ahead of qualifying for the U.S. Grand Prix with Sebastian Vettel close behind.

Hamilton has dominated practice over two days and will look for a pole position battle between his Mercedes and Vettel's Ferrari. Vettel is trying to close a 59-point gap to overtake Hamilton in the title chase with four races left.

He's got work to do. Hamilton set a track record Saturday at the Circuit of the Americas for the second day in a row with a lap of 1 minute, 34.478 seconds. Vettel was .092 seconds behind.

Hamilton is seeking a fourth consecutive win in Texas and fifth overall since 2012.

Race officials confirmed that Red Bull's Max Verstappen will get a 15-place starting grid penalty Sunday because of an engine upgrade, his sixth of the season.
