BASTROP, Texas - The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday announced the discovery of a body in a car earlier in the month has now become a homicide investigation.

About 10 p.m. on Oct. 7, the office received a call about a body inside a car in the 100 block of Oak Arbor Trail in the city of Bastrop.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Daniel Heath of Del Valle, Texas. A preliminary autopsy showed Heath was stabbed multiple times in the head and neck and suffered additional blunt force trauma to the head.

It’s believed Heath’s car was parked in front of a home belonging to an acquaintance of his.

The sheriff’s office additionally said that there are no suspects they can currently discuss and that no arrests have been made.
