NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- A New Braunfels company isn't following through with its contracts.

The Better Business Bureau said Bow-Tie Roofing owes customers approximately $250,000 in refunds or work.

Customer complaints doubled from March of 2016 to this year. In the last two months, 82 complaints have been filed against the company. A change in ownership and three hail storms in April of last year could be partly to blame.

However, the BBB said Bow-Tie Roofing kept taking new customers, despite a back log of contracts. One customer was told by the company the franchise had closed and his $5,200 deposit was gone.

Others were offered an apology. The former owners of Bow-Tie started a new roofing company called R & R Company, LLC.
