AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police on Monday took into custody a Lyft ride-share driver they believe sexually assaulted a customer back in July.

Driver Angel Interial, 36, is facing a charge of sexual assault, a second-degree felony.

Police were notified of the incident on July 12. The victim told investigators that a few nights prior she had gone out drinking with friends at two Austin bars.

By 11 p.m. that night, the victim was intoxicated, and a friend used the Lyft app to get her a ride home.

The victim blacked out during the ride home, but the next morning she was certain she had been raped by the driver.

The victim was able to provide police with a screen shot of the Lyft receipt, which included Interial's name and photo. A lab matched Interial’s DNA to samples taken from the victim.

This marks the second such incident reported this week. Also on Monday, Austin police took 40-year-old Osmani Limonta into custody. He drove for Ride Austin and is also accused of sexually assaulting a passenger.

Lyft spokeswoman Alexandra LaManna issued the following statement Tuesday afternoon:

"These allegations are extremely upsetting. We have absolutely no tolerance for this type of behavior on the Lyft platform - the safety of our community is our top priority. As soon as this incident was reported to us in 2015, we permanently deactivated the driver and worked closely with the authorities during their investigation."
