Mosquitoes in Cedar Park have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

Cedar Park says there are currently no reported cases of humans with the virus.

The mosquitoes with the virus were collected in southwest Cedar Park, near the intersection of Cypress Creek Road and Sun Chase Boulevard.

The city is now doing advanced monitoring and testing, and treating standing water that cannot be drained.

Because the sample was collected near Elizabeth Milburn Park, the city encourages everyone to protect themselves from mosquito bites while outdoors by wearing long sleeves and pants, and using insect repellent.
