SAN ANTONIO - A judge has dismissed criminal charges against 22 material witnesses in the July smuggling case that left ten undocumented immigrants dead.

The U.S. Attorney's Office said the depositions for those witnesses, which were scheduled for this week, have been cancelled.  The 22 people will be turned over to immigration officials.

Back in July, dozens of people were found packed in the back of a tractor-trailer that police connected to James Matthew Bradley.

The survivors were held as material witnesses in the case against Bradley, who faces federal charges. No trial date for Bradley has been scheduled.
