Max Gorden is a political reporter and fill-in anchor for Capital Tonight. Max's mission is to break down the political debate and explain the personal impact of decisions made at the Texas Capitol.
A passionate storyteller, Max spent time as the Spectrum News Hays County Bureau Chief before taking on the political beat. At the bureau, Max covered ongoing local issues like the Onion Creek wastewater controversy and the grassroots effort to stop the removal of Capes Dam.
Max has also reported on large national stories. He led Spectrum News' network coverage of Orlando's Pulse Nightclub massacre and reported from Dallas after a sniper killed five law enforcement officers.
Originally from Northern California, Max attended New York University, double-majoring in English and broadcast journalism. In New York, Max had the opportunity to intern on the CNBC assignment desk and with the NBC New York Investigative Team. Since graduating from NYU, Max worked as a multimedia journalist and anchor at WAOW, an ABC affiliate in Wausau, Wisconsin.
When Max isn’t reporting, he enjoys getting outside, listening to live music, and eating all the delicious food Texas has to offer.
