AUSTIN, Texas -- Several of Austin's top chefs came together Sunday to help people recovering from Hurricane Harvey.

Austin Chefs Night Out: A Benefit for Hurricane Harvey Relief featured tasting portions from over 20 chefs and restaurants.

All of the money raised from the fundraiser, including 100 percent of ticket sales, went directly to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund at the Greater Houston Community Foundation.

"It is important for us to stay in our lives, and to have joy while we're rebuilding because we can't be in the doom and gloom all the time.  Yet, we all know that five dollars here, a hundred dollars there grouped together goes a really long way for people,” said Kevin Fink, of Emmer & Rye.

Organizers say they recognize that the recovery efforts are far from finished. They plan to hold similar events in the near future.
