AUSTIN, Texas —  A sorority at the University of Texas at Austin is in mourning after losing one of their own in a fatal moped crash.

Twenty-one-year-old UT junior named Nancy-Jane David died early Monday evening in the 3700 block of Manor Road after her moped collided with a bus.

The driver of the bus stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police in investigation. 

The Austin American-Statesman reports she swerved into traffic, hit the bus and that she had mechanical trouble right before the accident.

A member of the Chi Omega sorority eulogized her on Facebook on Wednesday.

According to the post she joined them in 2014.

She was a native of McKinney, according to an obituary posted this week.

At McKinney High School she served as Senior Class President and even appeared as the school mascot.
