AUSTIN, Texas — The three suspects accused of attempting to murder Judge Julie Kocurek will go to trial in October of next year.
A trial date was set for Oct. 10, 2017.
Kocurek was shot multiple times in the driveway of her home after returning from a high school football game on the evening of Nov. 6, 2015.
Charges were filed against Chimene Onyeri, age 28, and two other alleged accomplices, Marcellus Burgin, 26, and Rasul Scott, 24, in September of 2016.
Kocurek was allegedly targeted because she was supposed to sentence Onyeri for financial-related crimes.
At the pretrial hearing Thursday morning, the judge Lee Yeakel considered a number of motions from both sides before.
