AUSTIN, Texas — Thundercloud Subs held its kick off rally, The Turkey Call, for the annual Turkey Trot run.

Stepping Stone School students were able to show off their costumes and their best turkey calls on Thursday.

All proceeds from the Turkey Trot benefit Caritas of Austin. Caritas is a nonprofit that helps central Texans transition out of poverty.

Thundercloud has raised nearly $3 million since starting the event. The goal this year is to raise more than $325,000.

"I just think it's bigger and better every year. You know I think more people come out in costumes. It's more festive. It grows every year,” said Mike Haggerty with Thundercloud.

The 5-mile Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving Day at 9 a.m.
