A Bollywood Dance Celebration was held near the Capitol steps Saturday evening.

The state capitol was the place to be for the free showcase of Indian culture and cuisine.

This is the third year for the event and organizers say they've seen nothing but success.

And if you aren't familiar with Bollywood... well, it's pretty simple to understand.

"Basically it's the Hindi film industry, or a particular film industry from India,” explained Prakash Mohandas. “The music that comes out of that is Bollywood music. Any dance you do to that music is Bollywood dance."

This year was the largest turnout for the event.

That's thanks in part to the popularity of shows like “So You Think You Can Dance” and accessiblity to Bollywood movies through internet streaming services.
