Erin Carroll is a meteorologist for Spectrum News 1 in Ohio.

During her 20-year television career, she has seen a lot of extreme weather. Whether it was an 80-degree day on Christmas Eve, a blizzard in March or a massive water main break due to sub-zero temperatures, Erin knows weather is crucial to Ohioans.

She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1996, and began her career in news as a morning editor for Ohio News Network. She became ONN’s first Cleveland bureau reporter in 1998.

From Cleveland, Erin enjoyed two North Carolina winters as a reporter for WLFL in Raleigh, N.C. After missing those Ohio winters too much, she and her husband returned to Akron in 2003.

After completing the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State, Erin began doing statewide weather for ONN in 2004. Following that, she was a freelance weather and fill-in traffic anchor at WBNS in Columbus until August 2015. Next stop was to WSYX, also in Columbus, as the weekend evening meteorologist/weekday reporter until 2017.

Erin is a proud dance, cheer and volleyball mom who seems to spend most of her free time driving to and from these events. When she’s not cheering on her daughters, she enjoys taking nature walks with her family and two dogs, cooking and baking (especially around the holidays).
