CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A fire at a Charlotte-Douglas International Airport parking deck prompted the closure of a road and parking facilities.
The fire was reported about 9:30 a.m. at the parking deck at 5488 Josh Birmingham Parkway, the Charlotte Fire Department said in a post on social media.
Airport authorities described it as a vehicle fire.
Three people suffered minor injuries, and paramedics transported one for further evaluation, the fire department said, adding that it took 60 firefighters 40 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
The road and parking facilities reopened shortly after 10 a.m., except for the fourth floor of the hourly parking deck, airport authorities said.
