TEXAS – A mother and her 7-year-old child are back on land after they were washed away in rising flood waters in Williamson County on Tuesday.

The mother was driving on County Road 252 when her vehicle was washed off the roadway. Williamson County deputies rescued the mother and child from the rapidly moving water.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office thanked the owner of Liberty Hill Towing, Lyle Bonnet, for assisting deputies with the rescue. 

Several agencies from across the area are heading to flooded areas to assist with water rescues as the Llano River continues to flood, prompting evacuations.

Teams from Williamson County are helping with the water rescues in Llano and Kingsland. The Round Rock Fire Department is also sending a boat with three people.

Cedar Park firefighters are sending a boat with a battalion chief and four people.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is also sending a boat with three people. The Williamson County Fire Marshall’s Office is sending a captain to help with coordinating.
