AUSTIN, Texas -- Austin police on Tuesday reported a suspect is in custody in connection to the discovery of a body on Saturday.

Police were called to a residence located on Bear Paw Trail in Del Valle concerning a deceased person.

Arriving officers located the body of a woman with obvious trauma to her body. She was pronounced dead at 8:56 a.m. Saturday. The victim was identified as 36-year-old Rosa Hernandez.

Homicide detectives, via witness interviews, determined that Hernandez’s boyfriend, 25-year-old Edmundo Cisneroz, was missing from the home along with the victim’s vehicle.

Detectives located Cisneroz and the department said that during an interview he confessed to strangling his girlfriend.

Hernandez’s cause of death was ruled manual strangulation and a homicide.

Cisneroz was booked into the Travis County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Bond was set at $225,000.
